Description of Collaborative Activity: |
A workshop was held focusing on research priorities for understanding breast cancer in young women, and 2 surveys were conducted within NIEHS' Sister Study: 1) looking at high risk women without breast cancer to understand the impact of breast cancer in a family member on women and their daughters, including screening and lifestyle behaviors; 2) survey of young breast cancer survivors to identify issues related to treatment and follow-up, barriers to care, quality of life, discrimination, and other factors post-diagnosis. The survey was also focused on special needs of young survivors including fertility. |
