Description of Collaborative Activity: |
The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) is collaborating with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to pilot methods necessary for conducting a cross-sectional national mental health study designed to (1) estimate the prevalence of a number of specific mental disorders, (2) investigate disorder correlates and patterns of care, and (3) provide a platform for follow-up studies on subgroups of interest. The currently funded project will execute the steps necessary to build the instrument, obtain Office of Management and Budget clearance, and field test all procedures that could inform a larger scale study in the future. |
