Title of Collaborative Activity:

CONNECT EHR (Electronic Health Records) Interoperability Special Interest Group (EHRI SIG)

Description of Collaborative Activity:

CONNECT continues to expand and grow in line with the CONNECT Community's needs and in conjunction with the developments of the Nationwide Health Information Network. To support building out secure and easy-to-implement health information exchange among physicians, patients (personal health record), labs and pharmacies, the CONNECT program created the Electronic Health Record Interoperability Special Interest Group (EHRI SIG). The EHRI SIG was formed to ensure the interoperability requirements for EHR and related solutions are successfully incorporated into CONNECT as it continues to evolve to focus on the end-user experience. Members of the EHRI SIG will work together to achieve interoperability of EHR systems in line with Nationwide Health Information Network standards and specifications using the CONNECT solution. The Director of the NLM Lister Hill National Center for Biomedical Communications serves on the EHRI SIG.
