Air Force Medical Service CTSA Collaboration Workshop: Opportunities in Translational Science Research

Description of Collaborative Activity:

On May 13, 2011, members of the government (military and civilian), academia, and industry convened a one-day conference at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to generate collaborative research opportunities and discuss ways to share data resources. Meeting attendees represented the following entities: Air Force Medical Service (AFMS), Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Consortium, National Institutes of Health (NIH), Veterans’ Administration (VA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), industry, care providers and research investigators. The participants focused specifically on enabling new research for patient centered research including comparative effectiveness research, health economics, and biomedical informatics.
