Description of Collaborative Activity: |
The goal of the AIDS International Training and Research (AITRP) program is to build multi-disciplinary biomedical, behavioral, and social science research capacity for the prevention, care, and treatment of HIV/AIDS and HIV-related conditions in adults and children in low-and middle-income countries. Research training will be provided to scientists at institutions in countries defined by the World Bank criteria as low- and middle-income. PEPFAR/CDC-COP FY12 funded supplements to parent AITRP awards in Zambia through Vanderbilt; Uganda and Vietnam through Berkeley; Tanzania through Baylor, Dartmouth/Boston University; South Africa through Columbia, and Ukraine through SUNY Medical Center Downstate. |
