Description of Collaborative Activity: |
The mission of the Blood, Organ, and Tissue Senior Executive Council (BOTSEC) is to serve as the department's internal executive leadership coordination mechanism across all the staff and operating divisions involved in blood, organ, and tissue safety and blood product availability. The internal committee is also responsible for looking at providing timely recommendations on emerging issues that are taking place. It also provides decisional elements on proposed policies, public health threats, and issues related to blood, organ, and tissue safety and availability. The staff of the Public Health Service (PHS) operating divisions involved in blood, organ and tissues safety (BOTS) meet monthly by a teleconference call. |
