Title of Collaborative Activity:

Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Pediatric Research Network Program

Description of Collaborative Activity:

The purpose of this IAA is for NIH to contribute funding to the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to fund, oversee, and manage a cooperative agreement on a topic of mutual interest to the agencies. The funds will be used to support a pediatric practice-based applied research network that will engage in coordinated multi-centered research activities, focusing on translating research to practice, and cultivate new researchers from among the practice-based research network (PBRN) that successfully competed for the cooperative agreement to continue to develop and implement a training program to create research proposals, culminating in the submission of research proposals involving priority needs for pediatric therapeutics in accordance with the Best Pharmaceuticals for Children Act (BPCA), build infrastructure to further develop an existing affiliated electronic health record (EHR) based pediatric PBRN engaged in research endeavors of mutual interest to NIH and HRSA, and more swiftly evaluate and submit research proposals that should result in health and health services improvements within the pediatric population, particularly when applied directly into pediatric care and service settings.
