Title of Collaborative Activity:

National Collaborative on Childhood Obesity Research – Registry of Studies

Description of Collaborative Activity:

This activity is currently in the beginning stages of development. The registry of studies will be a database housed within the National Collaborative on Childhood Obesity Research (NCCOR) website. The registry of studies will begin with descriptions of 4 or 5 key large outcome studies and/or evaluations targeting childhood obesity. The website will house the following minimum content: • Study name • Dates of study • Funding organizations • Contact individual • Populations studied (with sample sizes if possible) • Geographic locations (state and city if possible) • Major study questions and aims • Measures • Design • Analytic protocol • Intervention description • Brief study description Researchers will be able to search the database by the categories listed above. The registry will start with 4 to 5 of the largest studies being conducted by the National Collaborative on Childhood Obesity Research (NCCOR) partners (i.e., NIH, CDC, RWJF, USDA) and more studies will be added as resource become available. One of the studies to be featured in the Registry of studies will be the NHLBI-led Healthy Communities Study.
