Title of Collaborative Activity: |
Natural History Study of Monoclonal Gammopathy of Undetermined Significance (MGUS) and Smoldering Myeloma (SMM) |
Description of Collaborative Activity: |
The purpose of this study is to test the stored serum specimens of Air Force Health Study (AFHS) participants for Monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) and microRNAs using sensitive state-of-the-art laboratory methods. The serum specimens of the AFHS participants who are selected for this study will be retrieved and shipped to NCI. NCI will perform the tests. NIH/NCI will obtain IRB approval of the study protocol and analyze the serum sample to detect and quantify M-protein and expression levels of a panel of microRNAs. |
