Title of Collaborative Activity:

Transition to Fatherhood

Description of Collaborative Activity:

This research examines the social and economic consequences of teenage or early fatherhood. This research began with an interagency agreement and is an administrative supplement to the NICHD Transition to Fatherhood Grant-5P01HD045610-05 that assists in developing better pregnancy prevention policies for young men by improving understanding of the social and economic consequences of early and premature transitions to fatherhood. This grant supplement will undertake secondary data analysis of multiple longitudinal datasets to examine if the consequences of premature parenting are different for men than for women. This information is needed in order to inform the development of effective pregnancy prevention strategies for young men.
