Trans-NIH American Indian and Alaska Native Health Communications and Information Workgroup

Description of Collaborative Activity:

The workgroup provides a forum for National Institutes of Health (NIH) health education and communications staff to share effective communication approaches to develop and disseminate health information for American Indian and Alaska Native communities. The Work Group partners with the Indian Health Service to conduct outreach to 1,600 Community Health Representatives (CHRs) nationwide through a regular mailing of NIH health information in order to increase awareness among CHRs about the availability of NIH health information for patients and the general public.
