Healthy People 2020 Partnerships for Heart Disease and Stroke

Description of Collaborative Activity:

The purpose of this collaborative activity is to support the development by the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) of measures that can be used to assess progress toward achieving Healthy People 2020 (HP2020) Heart Disease, Blood Pressure, and Cholesterol Objectives. This work group is dedicated to HP2020-related activities that will: improve cardiovascular health and quality of life through prevention, detection, and treatment of risk factors for heart attack and stroke; promote early identification and treatment of heart attacks and strokes; and prevent repeat cardiovascular events. The NIH and CDC's National Center for Health Statistics collaborate on this activity.
