Description of Collaborative Activity: |
The President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) non-communicable diseases (NCD) project, a collaboration between PEPFAR implementing partners, has begun a two-year project with the goal of articulating research priorities to incorporate prevention, care and treatment for non-communicable diseases into HIV/AIDS platforms in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The PEPFAR-NCD project will focus on People Living with HIV (PLWH), many of whom are being treated successfully for HIV, but who are increasingly experiencing co-morbid diseases or conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and depression. This project will produce landscape analyses and establish research agendas, priorities and products to enhance NCD service delivery through PEPFAR platforms. |
