Title of Collaborative Activity:

Human Immunology Project Consortium Collaboration on Mechanism Studies of Influenza Vaccination

Description of Collaborative Activity:

The NIAID-funded Human Immunology Project Consortium supports an Infrastructure/Opportunity Fund (IOF) to create a shared research infrastructure for ongoing development of the immune profiling network, support collaborative projects, pilot projects, and new research opportunities for the HIPC investigators.  One of the projects the IOF supports is a collaboration with Dr. Hana Golding’s laboratory at FDA. This project is using a systems biology approach to undertake a detailed analysis of the molecular signatures of the innate and adaptive immune responses to inactivated H5N1 vaccine in healthy adult volunteers; Dr. Golding’s lab will also evaluate and run pre-and post-vaccination plasma samples and analyze the data.
