Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award Program

Description of Collaborative Activity:

The National Institutes of Health Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (Kirschstein-NRSA) program provides predoctoral and postdoctoral training in biomedical, behavioral, and clinical research, including health services and primary care research, to meet the nation’s needs for investigators in these fields. To help foster the training of health services and primary care researchers, a portion of the Kirschstein funds are annually transferred to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and Health Resources and Services Administration by the NIH Budget Office, in accordance with Public Law 1118, Section 219 of the Public Health Service Act.
