Description of Collaborative Activity: |
This collaboration was in furtherance of the 2010 U.S.-Uzbekistan Science and Technology Agreement, signed by then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and First Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Azimov. Approximately 30 U.S. scientists, university researchers, and representatives from both government and non-profit agencies attended, along with approximately 60 Uzbek scientists, researchers, and government officials. The aim of the Joint Committee Meeting (JCM) was to define two-year action plans for cooperation in three mutually-identified areas: agriculture, renewable energy, and evidence-based medicine. |
