Workshop on Research Directions in Genetically-Mediated Stevens-Johnson Syndrome/Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis

Description of Collaborative Activity:

Workshop held March 3-4 2015 to identify future research directions in Stevens Johnson Syndrome/Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (SJS/TEN), jointly across multiple NIH ICs and FDA's pharmacosurveillance group. Goals are to review current state of knowledge of surveillance, pathogenesis, and treatment of SJS/TEN; examine role of genomics and pharmacogenomics in etiology, treatment, and eradication of preventable causes of SJS/TEN; and identify gaps, unmet needs, and priorities for future research to eliminate genetically mediated SJS/TEN globally.
