Description of Collaborative Activity:

Research to guide practice: Enhancing HIV/AIDS platforms to address NCDs in low-resource settings (the PEPFAR-NCD Project) aims to bring together researchers, implementers and government representatives to articulate practical goals, approaches and a related research agenda to incorporate prevention, care and treatment for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) into HIV/AIDS platforms in sub-Saharan Africa. The PEPFAR-NCD project focuses on people living with HIV (PLWH), many of whom are being treated successfully for HIV, but who are increasingly experiencing co-morbid diseases or conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and depression. This project has produce landscape analyses and is establishing research agendas, priorities, and products, including modeled data, to enhance NCD services through PEPFAR platforms.
