National Science Advisory Board for Biosecurity

Description of Collaborative Activity:

NSABB is a Federal Advisory Committee established in 2004 to provide advice to the USG and leadership on biosecurity and issues related to dual use research. The NSABB is an influential committee and its reports and recommendations have shaped policy development. The NSABB also undertakes domestic and international outreach and education efforts to raise awareness of issues related to biosecurity. Currently the NSABB is part of a White House-initiated deliberative process to evaluate the risks and benefits associated with certain studies that could generate pathogens with pandemic potential.
