Reducing the Incidence of Suicide in Indigenous Groups – Strengths United through Networks (RISING SUN) Initiative is a collaborative effort among key international stakeholders from Arctic Council States affected by suicide, and includes mental health researchers, service providers, government officials, and indigenous community members. The RISING-SUN U.S. Government working group convenes Department of Health and Human Services members of the RISING SUN Scientific Advisory Group (National Institute of Mental Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) and Department of State staff who support the activities of the Arctic Council's Sustainable Development working group. The RISING-SUN U.S. Government working group exchanges information that facilitates the conduct of the RISING SUN initiative, which is coordinated by NIMH. |
