Description of Collaborative Activity: |
The IWMI is co-chaired by NIH and NIST and is working to identify gaps and develop a roadmap to accelerate technology development that is more effective, improves patient care, and has the potential to lower cost. The working group, which includes twelve federal agencies, has determined key strategic directions through a series of stakeholder meetings. Areas identified as important for joint focus include deep/machine learning, quantitative and high-value imaging, and inter-agency collaboration to accelerate translation. The working group released its final report on December 22, 2017. As of February 2018, the charter for this working group will not be renewed. |
