Description of Collaborative Activity: |
The goal of this study is to develop, implement, and evaluate a population-based, timely, low-cost surveillance system for the assessment of the incidence of type 1 diabetes among young adults in the United States. The study will determine the incidence of type 1 diabetes among young adults and will include an Islet Autoantibody Standardization Program (ISAP)-certified central laboratory for the measurement of diabetes auto anti-bodies in all individuals identified with newly diagnosed diabetes. Incident cases of diabetes will be identified using electronic health records. |
