Description of Collaborative Activity: |
The charge of the Interagency Committee includes promoting collaboration among federal agencies. A goal of this committee is to develop a national “Roadmap” for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). This strategic planning effort will represent the collective expertise of providers, educators, advocates, federal/state/national organizations, and individuals with TBI and their families and will result in a consensus document outlining the critical elements of a successful system of care for TBI service delivery. Outcomes of the planning effort include the adoption of National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) Common Data Elements for TBI research, and creation of the FITBIR Informatics System to store data from TBI patients and controls enrolled in studies funded by the Department of Defense (DoD) and National Institutes of Health (NIH). The FITBIR Informatics System was developed to share data across the entire TBI research field and to facilitate collaboration between laboratories, as well as interconnectivity with other informatics platforms. |
