Title of Collaborative Activity:

National Cancer Institute and HRSA Office of Women’s Health Cervical Cancer Moonshot Roundtable Series: Creating Capacity to Reduce Systems Barriers in Rural and Underserved Settings

Description of Collaborative Activity:

Staff in the Healthcare Delivery Research program supports the HRSA Office of Women’s Health (OWH) and the HHS Office of the Assistant Secretary of Health, Office of Population Affairs (OASH OPA) to co-sponsor an HPV and Cervical Cancer Roundtable series of meetings to support cervical cancer guideline adoption and accelerate cervical cancer control. This multi-agency approach to increasing cervical cancer screening will fund: 1) a literature review to inform written materials for a three-meeting Roundtable series, which will define current practices and needs in cervical cancer prevention and screening and treatment at HRSA-supported health care settings and other safety-net settings of care; 2) information dissemination training webinars to highlight prevention and treatment clinical recommendations for safety-net settings of care; 3) a survey of cancer center directors to understand cancer centers' ongoing collaboration with HRSA-funded clinics, and 4) provider-facing technical assistance resources (i.e., web-based toolkit). This project is consistent with high-priority areas in the recommendations of the 2016 NCI Cervical Cancer Moonshot Team of experts that advise the NCI’s National Cancer Advisory Board.
