This consortium is organizing international efforts to identify infectious agents, dietary factors, or other environmental factors that trigger type 1 diabetes in genetically susceptible people. The study enrolled over 8,000 newborns and is following them for 15 years to identify environmental triggers of type 1 diabetes. |
