Surgeon General's Call to Action to Prevent Prescription Drug Abuse in Youth: The Dangers of Improper Use of Controlled Medications |
Description of Collaborative Activity: |
A multi-agency federal workgroup was formed to inform the development of a Surgeon General’s document on prescription drug abuse. An expert panel meeting was held in 2011 to receive input from researchers, public health officials, clinicians, military and law enforcement personnel on the magnitude of the problem and effective interventions to address it. As a result, the federal workgroup is now developing a Call to Action to Prevent Prescription Drug Abuse Among Youth. |
